Notes
Charlotte does not like fish — make her something separate. Check haddock thoroughly for bones before giving to Rosie. First made 24 Feb 2026 — poached in milk, extremely tasty, Rosie loved it too. Charlotte and Alfie had chicken sausages instead — awful, avoid repurchasing. Fish Fridays: Plan to have fish every other Friday (when Emily and Alfie are at their fathers'). Next time: do a proper sauce for the haddock. Sauce ideas for next time: - Crème fraîche & chive: Reduce poaching milk, add crème fraîche, simmer 2–3 min, whisk in butter, scatter chives - Parsley sauce: White sauce made with the poaching milk, handful of chopped parsley - Simple butter & lemon: Reduce poaching milk, knob of butter, squeeze of lemon
